Each February Mat Su Sertoma Club holds the annual Mat Su Polar Plunge, an event some view as "crazy," but we'd like to think of it as sheer Alaskan fun! Have you ever thought about how cold the water underneath feet of ice on a lake might be in February? Well, we encourage you to find out and help raise funds by jumping through a hole in the ice on Wasilla Lake! Sign up, find sponsors, and take the PLUNGE!! You won't regret it.
After each Plunge is complete, we tally the funds raised and split them three ways - between two deserving non-profit organizations (this could be your group!) and Sertoma (so that we can do the Plunge again NEXT YEAR!)
Think it over, come up with a costume idea, and then sign up when registration starts in November. We'll be keeping an eye out for you.
Until 2013 Plunge!
